A++ Rated Rockdoors are here!

Posted by Lea · September 30th 2015

Back in July we wrote an article about the up and coming changes in Door Energy Set Ratings (DSER’s) scheduled for 1st October 2015, which is now upon us; Door Energy Set Ratings have changed to bring them in line with window energy ratings, where the most thermally efficient window achieves an A++ rating.

For clarity and consistency across the industry doors are now rated in the same way, with the most thermally efficient door no longer achieving an A, but an A++. Current homeowners and installers with a Rockdoor need not panic, as our cutting edge technology has seen many of our doors move up in the Door Set Energy Ratings, with most Rockdoors that were previously rated A, now achieving an outstanding A++ rating.

Thermal Efficient Rockdoors

We’ve found that homeowners and installers find the Energy Ratings extremely helpful when choosing a new composite door, whether it be a Front Door, Back Door or even new French Doors. Along with our security rating, you can ensure you get the most thermally efficient and secure door available in the industry keeping you safe and warm. The Rockdoor innovation includes technology such as Carbon Fibre reinforcement and press glazed technology ensuring competitors can’t even come close to the level of security and thermal efficiency that a Rockdoor composite door offers. No timber whatsoever in the door alone provides a massive boost for Rockdoors ratings.

Guide to Energy Ratings Leaflets

Although it doesn’t happen frequently, changes to the Door Energy Set Ratings can sometimes cause some confusion, to help erase that confusion, we will shortly be publishing our user-friendly guide to Energy Ratings so customers can be certain they are choosing a composite door that is right for them.

Unbeatable Door U-Values

As part of the changes in the energy efficiency process, the government has changed how they measure doors, which is great news for us, as our U-Values have actually improved! A solid Rockdoor now achieves a U-Value of 0.83 W (m2k), something that is unbeatable when comparing like for like with many of our competitors.
