As we continue our in-depth look at Rockdoor, this week we’re focusing on our tried, tested, and trusted locking systems, supplied for nearly 30 years by our long-standing partner, Winkhaus.
While Winkhaus multi-point locks are used by several door manufacturers, Rockdoor takes their performance to the next level — and in this series, we want to highlight exactly why our doors stand out when it comes to safety and security.
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE THROUGH DESIGN
Winkhaus locks are known for their quality and reliability. But when fitted into a Rockdoor, their performance is significantly enhanced — thanks to the superior construction of our doors.
Every Rockdoor features a reinforced aluminium inner frame, which provides a strong and secure fixing point for the locks. Even the locking casings are embedded within this aluminium core, adding an extra layer of strength and durability.
Additionally, our steel-reinforced outer frame means the lock keeps are also secured into robust fixing points, further increasing the door's overall security.
One feature that truly sets Rockdoor apart is the unique taper on the edge of the Winkhaus 25mm steel lock hooks. This taper design pulls the door tightly into the frame when locked, creating stronger compression and a better seal against the Q-Lon gasket — ensuring not just security, but also energy efficiency.
CUSTOMISATION & ASSURANCE
To provide extra flexibility, our full-length lock keeps are fully adjustable, so the compression can be set to suit homeowner and location requirements.
All our locks are tested for over 100,000 opening and closing cycles, whilst being Secured by Design as standard.
