It might surprise you to know that every Rockdoor we’ve made for almost 30 years has been fitted with the same high-quality, German-engineered, 3-way adjustable door hinges. There’s a good reason for that—they’re simply the best for the job.

Built to Support – Literally
Rockdoors are heavier than standard composite doors, and that’s by design. Their solid construction gives them a premium, secure feel every time you open or close them. To support that strength, we needed hinges that do more than simply hold the door in place, they enhance the overall experience.
One of the key differences is how our hinges are fitted. They are routed into the door frame which means the entire body of the hinge helps carry the weight of the door, not just the screws holding it in, making it much more stable and reliable, even after years of daily use.
All Rockdoor composite doors' hinges feature high-quality Teflon bushes to reduce the friction between the moving parts of the hinge. This means no binding or friction when opening and closing. Teflon bushes, also known as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), are commonly used on industrial machinery and automotive car parts when self-lubricating properties, longevity and performance are critical.

The hinges don’t just help with movement, they’re also a vital part of your door's security. All our hinges are fixed directly into the aluminium-reinforced inner frame of the door.
Unlike many standard composite doors that use softwood or weaker materials for fixing, this solid anchor point means the hinges contribute to locking the door firmly into place.
For outward-opening doors, we go even further. We include hidden grub screws for extra strength and added tamper resistance. It’s a small feature that makes a big difference.
Small Adjustments, Big Impact
One thing that really sets our hinges apart is how easy they are to adjust. Adjusting a front door by the smallest of margins requires a level of accuracy and precision, which our hinges deliver.
Being 3-way adjustable means they can be finely tuned in height, depth, and side-to-side movement to ensure a perfect fit every time.
Once the door is aligned and adjusted, the hinges can be locked off, meaning no movement, no dropping, and no slipping. The door stays exactly where it needs to be, permanently.
