What Makes the Rockdoor Locking Mechanism More Secure

We use Winkhaus multi-point locking systems across our range, locks that are trusted and recognised for their quality and reliability. But what makes Rockdoor different is how we integrate these locks into the very structure of the door itself.
Strong by Design
Our doors are built differently. Every Rockdoor features a high-quality aluminium inner frame that adds exceptional rigidity and provides a secure fixing point for the lock, holding firm under pressure. Even the locking components are housed within this internal structure for maximum strength.
But it doesn’t stop there. The door frame itself is also reinforced with aluminium and uPVC profiles, which means the lock keeps (the parts of the lock fixed into the frame) are anchored into a solid and reliable structure. It’s a combination that gives our doors a serious edge when it comes to resisting forced entry.
Smarter Locking for a Tighter Seal
There’s also a subtle but unique feature in our locking mechanism that you won’t find on just any composite door. The 25mm steel hooks used in our Winkhaus locks have a unique taper on the edge.
This taper helps to pull the door tightly into the frame as it locks, creating strong compression. That not only boosts security, but it also improves the seal around the door, keeping out drafts and noise.
In fact, our doors use the high-performance Q-Lon gasket, one of the best seals on the market, and the tight fit created by our locking system ensures it works as efficiently as possible.
Flexibility Built In
No two homes are exactly the same, and we know that. That’s why our full-length multi-point locks are adjustable, so the level of compression can be tailored to suit your needs, whether you live in a quiet suburb, a windy coastal town, or anywhere in between.
Of course, none of this would mean much if the locks didn’t stand the test of time. That’s why all our locks are tested to over 100,000 open and close cycles, and every Rockdoor comes Secured by Design as standard, the police-backed security initiative that promotes effective crime prevention.
